Angela Kerkhoff

akerkhoff offers a range of innovative limited edition handbags and other accessories, all handcrafted in luxury fabrics. 

Trained as a ceramist and artist, Angela Kerkhoff went on to study at Goldsmiths College University of London where she did a post-graduate diploma course in Art & Design.  Further training followed in textile craft and in 2006, inspired by her love of fabrics, she introduced her range of akerkhoff textile accessories.

akerkhoff designs are based on a range of interests reflecting Angela’s multi-disciplinary approach to her work.  The starting point for a design can be anything that catches her imagination, a shape, a movement, a mood.  Making use of the textures, colour depth and the sculptural qualities of cloth, she applies a wide range of techniques to design, make and decorate pieces which combine functionality with the uniqueness and individuality of artwork. 

For her handbags, Angela sources a variety of luxury and vintage fabrics, creating clean lines and using a bold colour palette.  Each bag is decorated individually - using free machine or hand embroidery and various appliqué techniques amongst others - making the motif a one-off, and all bags are handmade in limited edition lines. 

Practical to use, akerkhoff accessories are innovative in design, sophisticated and make a contemporary statement. 

In addition, there is a growing range of textile jewellery.  Angela uses luscious silks to make delicate, laced brooches and cuffs as well as soft, bold pieces to accessorise bags, hair or clothing.
