work by Anita Curtis

My jewellery is completely made by hand using a variety of traditional techniques and incorporating modern materials such as resin.  My current focus is designing a range of silver lockets with detailed bails, picture frames inside the locket and magnetic closures.

Resin is used in my jewellery to "paint" a design into the piece.  The design is hand pierced and filled with a hand dyed casting resign, to produce a completely flush design in the silver surface.  Some designs enable the resin to create a stained glass window effect when the piece is held to the light.

Handmade chains are made completely from scratch by hammering each individual link before creating the chain.  Chains can be combined with lockets to create a truly special gift.

Materials
Sterling silver sheet and wire are used to create all items along with casting resin and opaque tints.  I also use gemstones and customise pieces using the gemstone of my customers' choice.  Small magnets are used with epoxy glue to create the magnetic closures for lockets.
