Anne Davis

I graduated from Birmingham City University in June 2008 where I completed a BA Honours in Jewellery and Silversmithing. I have since been awarded a prestigious place within the Silversmiths Starter Studio at Yorkshire Artspace in Sheffield. This programme has allowed me to start my own silversmithing business, giving me access to a fully equipped workshop and providing me with mentor support from established makers such as Brett Payne and Chris Knight.   

I design and make pieces of tableware intended for use and enjoyment. Working in silver, often in combination with exotic woods, I create beautiful yet functional pieces with an attractive contrast in colour and texture. I take pleasure in working on the lathe and milling machine and this can often be seen in the very distinguished, contemporary and uncomplicated appearance of my pieces. I also retain the traditional silversmithing technique of hand raising and this makes each piece unique, this combination of manufacturing techniques is of central importance in my work.
