Brenda Day

work by Brenda Day

A trained designer and textile artist, I have been involved in the craft field all my life. Several years as a teacher gave way to the establishment of an embroidery kit business based on Welsh images. This was followed by freelance work for various national embroidery magazines, and the production of three books on various aspects of embroidery.
Over the past few years I have become involved in beadwork in various forms, my love of colour and texture playing an important part in the items which I produce.
From simple necklaces and bracelets to fantasy pieces based on natural forms, my work is progressing into more three dimensional forms.
I find the variety of beads which are now available in a huge range of colours and finishes my main inspiration, together with design units of glass, silver and titanium which are made especially for me. These together enable me to create the individual pieces for which I am now known.
My catalogue shows a small range of simple items. Commissions accepted.
