Using carefully chosen colours and fabrics Bridget wishes to create elegant, unusual home furnishings and fashion accessories that, although quite different, complement one another.
After gaining a 1st Class Hons. Degree in Fashion and Textiles Bridget worked as an embroidery designer in the fashion industry for 10 years. In 2004 Bridget decided the time had come for her to design and produce her own range of unique embroidered handbags and cushions.
Bridget's inspiration can come from all sorts of things and places, usually ideas collected from her travels. A bird market in Asia, the elegant front of a Parisian chocolatier, a Milanese cobbler. She likes to play with the idea of decadence. Things that we would like but possibly wouldn't need. Indulging in the delights of a chocolate cake, the heady smell of an expensive perfume, the thought of slipping ones feet into a beautiful pair of satin, crystal adorned evening shoes. Bridget tries to incorporate embroidered drawings, rather than patterns onto her handbags and cushions, using space and colour to create something balanced, yet unpredictable. Wearable pictures and pieces of art for sofas and chairs, rather than walls.
Bridget's work is a mixture of applique, machine embroidery and hand embroidery on silks, suede and leather. As she finds the design element of her work so enjoyable she is continually developing new designs so her range remains fresh and exciting.
