Christine started her pottery career in 1975 when she was awarded her Licentiate of the Society of Designer-Craftsmen.  She is also a qualified teacher.  She has worked at Beaulieu Pottery and Selborne Pottery.

She works full-time in her own workshop and teaches adults one day a week at The Farnham Pottery with West Street Potters.

Her work is mainly thrown using white or red earthenware. The pieces are biscuit fired to 1000C and hand-decorated using wax resist and oxides or stains over a tin glaze.  The work is then fired to 1130C - a high firing for earthenware, but which causes the colours to blend well into the glaze, giving a richer finish.

Much of her work is inscribed with wax calligraphy, for which she takes personal commissions for wedding, anniversary, birth/christenings and other events.
Christine also incorporates verses from the Bible in her work, which expresses her Christian faith.  She designs pieces especially with calligraphy in mind.

She also enjoys making burnished and smoke-fired pieces, often hand-built, again in white or red earthenware, which can be enjoyed for their more random patterning and silk finish, bare of glaze.

Christine exhibits mainly in the South and accepts personal commissions.
