I produce a wide range of ceramics suitable for resale in shops, craft centres and galleries. I like to experiment with glazes, surface textures. All of the work is made from stoneware clay fired in a reduction atmosphere and the majority is designed for use in the home and garden.
TABLEWARE
mugs, jugs, plates, ovenware, store jars and bread crocks all finished in a silky cream glaze with white insides. This range can be available as bespoke.
INDIVIDUALLY DECORATED
I use a wide range of materials and decorative techniques. Firing in a reduction atmosphere allows me to get a red from copper which is used over a rich tenmoku glaze. This results in a running red looking like a fire in the night. I also use combinations of glaze colours, wax and then pour another glaze on top. I love the surprises on kiln opening - slightly uncontrollable and very unique. For a real earthy glaze I dig local clay and mix it with wood ash and chalk which I use over pots decorated with stamps and sgraffito. The materials I use are all natural minerals. I am in awe of the effect the fire has on them.
GARDEN AND CONSERVATORY
Plant pots and water features with a difference. From fun flying pigs and majestic Kings and Queens to African gods and chicken planters.
