Erica Sharpe

Fine Jewellery

Erica’s beautiful jewellery tells a story or takes you on a journey: beginning in her studio with a sketch, painting or sculpture inspired by the wildlife, heritage and landscape of the South West, or by the lives and stories of her customers, she creates quintessentially English designs with a very distinctive and elegant signature style. Each piece is developed as a combination of artistic design, ethically sourced materials and technical skills honed over 30 years as one of the UK’s leading contemporary jewellers.

Fascinated by unusually coloured gemstones, Erica is also rigorous in her use of reclaimed and Fairtrade precious metals, making her sparkling jewellery ethical as well as beautiful. Working both to create limited edition collections and individual commissions, her pursuit of technical perfection and her dedication to handcrafting every piece, means that every item of her jewellery is truly unique. A particular specialism is remodelling family jewellery, breathing new life into the stones and precious metals and bringing old items into use for a new generation.

Erica’s reclaimed silver necklace ‘Crane Dance’ was a finalist for the 2014 ‘Wildlife Artist of the Year’ Award and her stunning bangle from her first Fairtrade Gold collection ‘Stella’, toured with the Holden Group ‘Designers of Excellence’ Jewellery Show 2013. This year, Erica Sharpe Fine Jewellery is a Finalist in the Retail Jeweller Ethical Jeweller of the Year Award and was presented with a Gold Award in the 2015 South West Fairtrade Business Awards.

"So long, and thanks for all the fish"

After very many years of craft&design we've decided that we'd like to retire and so in 37 days we will close the craft&design website, including craft&design Online and the craft&design Selected Makers and Craft and Design Month websites. We've had a brilliant 35 years and would like to thank all our readers, advertisers, writers, contributors and website visitors for their support throughout that time. Our very best wishes to you all for the future - Angie and Paul.
