Georgy Mkrtichian

I graduated from Arts School specializing in wood technology and wood carving. I began gaining my experience as a craftsman in a furniture restoration business. Since moving to London I worked on commissions from private clients to museums. British, locally sourced hardwoods are among my preferred materials. I draw my inspiration from the great craftsmen of the past such as Grinling Gibbons, Robert Adam and Chippendale and use these influences to create my very individual, contemporary style.

I have been awarded the "single piece domestic furniture" category prize at the Wood Awards '09 and have been featured in the February '10 issue of the "Furniture & Cabinetmaking magazine".
