Jade Dutton

work by Jade Dutton

My jewellery work is inspired by shapes created in our natural world and how these shapes are perceived and received within the individual’s consciousness.

The coast is my main source of inspiration, I am in constant awe of the ever changing beauty of the sea and the sense of well -being, being near water brings, a feeling of tranquillity, calm and peacefulness.  The sights and sounds of being near water feeds my imagination such as the sun lights reflection on the waters surface, creating a shimmering effect. On stormy days, the suns gaze filters through the clouds casting shards of light onto the sea, giving an almost ethereal effect. The sound of breaking waves, a gurgling stream, of bird song.

I specialise in a form of lace making, which I feel lends itself to the delicacy and beauty of nature. I use a variety of wires, beads and fabric to create original and unique jewellery.
