Joanne Phillips

Labrador by Joanne Phillips

Joanne Phillips is a professionally qualified graphic designer, beginning her working life as a freelance illustrator. She then spent several years working in London as an Art Editor, designing magazines for the B.B.C, Haymarket and also the very first Big Issue.

She later moved to a picturesque essex village, where she re-established her love for drawing and painting. It was at a local craft fair that she discovered the art of pyrography. After spending time developing the technique and personal style, she now successfully sells her work both locally and internationally. She also gives lessons in pyrography skills and techniques and demonstrates at craft shows.

Joanne accepts private commissions and will happily design pieces personal to the customer. A wide range of subjects can be depicted including pets, wildlife, scenery, presentations and more. Her pyrographic works are intricate in detail and have a realistic depth of tone. Examples can be viewed on her award winning website
Proud member of The Guild of Essex Craftsmen.
