Julian Jardine

Julian Jardine

Julian Jardine is a graduate of Duncan of Jordanstone Art College in Dundee, Scotland. He started his career as a self employed sculptor in 1993 and has subsequently exhibited throughout the UK and abroad. Julian has also undertaken numerous freelance commissions creating masters for industry, limited editions and unique trophies for other companies. After a 1 year residency in Worcester Massachusetts, Julian spent 5 years doing 3D graphics for computer games before continuing his career in ceramics in 2005. In 2008 Julian opened the J.Jardine Gallery & workshop in Perth, Scotland. A small contemporary art gallery and open plan studio space where he could exhibit, work and teach.

Julian's work is mainly based on unique hand sculpted endangered species, each is created as a hollow form sculpture before firing to 1150° and finishing in acrylics. Much of Julian's inspiration comes from watching wildlife documentaries and images found using the internet. He relishes the constant challenge of trying new species and enjoying the variety of life that's out there. Over the years Julian has worked on quite a vast array of animals and regularly undertakes freelance commissions.
