Julie Vernon

Julie Vernon is a Nottingham based artist producing contemporary handcrafted mosaics for the home, garden and business settings. She also works on a range of community projects and private commissions.

Her work brings together  a mix of materials form vitreous glass and ceramic through to natural marble and slates.  Each piece is cut by hand to shape the material, which in turn makes each design unique.  She  often incorporates individual pieces of vintage porcelain or fragments of worn down ceramic  which have been washed ashore along British beaches, adding  a greater depth to the work with each piece having a hidden history of its own.

Inspiration comes from nature and the texture of the changing landscape.
