Lesley H Phillips

Lesley’s silver and silver with 9ct gold jewellery proves to be an eclectic selection of her art.  She is design led by the contemporary sleek and clean lines of the early 20th Century, the Art Deco Era.  However, living and working near the coast and in the heart of the country, she cannot fail to be inspired by the beauty of her surroundings.

The Green Collection also alludes to the fact that she purchases all her bullion from dealers who use mines for their gold and silver who adhere to the "Golden Rules" of mining: these rules ensure that the workers and surrounding areas are protected and that this can be independently verified.

Her jewellery is hand crafted using traditional methods with the highest degree of care and skill in her Dorset studio.  She chooses not to use machine casting, preferring that every item she makes should be as individual as the person wearing it.

Having received Gold Awards for her silver jewellery every year since 2007 in the largest annual county based competition and being in receipt of the coveted trophy for metalwork; she has twice had her jewellery featured in Vogue Magazine.  Her equestrian jewellery was also showcased at a National Museum in Chelsea, London for their major special exhibition “War Horse – fact and fiction”.  A large selection of her silver jewellery is sold internationally, which includes a chain of shops in Hong Kong.

She runs an online gallery where her work can be purchased direct, but also enjoys commissions where customers wish to create variations of her existing designs.

"So long, and thanks for all the fish"

After very many years of craft&design we've decided that we'd like to retire and so in 86 days we will close the craft&design website, including craft&design Online and the craft&design Selected Makers and Craft and Design Month websites. We've had a brilliant 35 years and would like to thank all our readers, advertisers, writers, contributors and website visitors for their support throughout that time. Our very best wishes to you all for the future - Angie and Paul.
