Linda McPherson

 

During my studies for a B.A. Hons. in Embroidered and Woven Textiles at Glasgow School of Art, I developed an interest in stitching papers together.Using mixed media and paper embroidery, my work incorporates several layers. They include the language of colour, the language of the metaphor, and the language of texture. I knit scarves, make felt applique cushions, hand stitched greeting cards, and paint textile art canvases which are embroidered.

I continue to develop and experiment with new techniques in my work, for exhibitions, workshops, and commission. My full time job is in Further Education, teaching Art & Design to Additional Needs students.
