Lorraine Murphy

My work is created from fine silver wire and sterling silver, embellished with semi-precious stones, pearls and Swarovski crystals. Due to the technical nature of my work no two pieces are identical, and often my designs change depending on my new source of inspiration. I have always had a leaning towards textiles and found that the marriage of traditional and contemporary techniques suits my eclectic attitude, and the opportunity to use alternative materials in my work brings a sense of fun to it. I occasionally use recycled elements in my work such as old keys, photos and bottle tops! Sometimes customers commission pieces to include an item of personal value which I can incorporate into the piece.
 
My work is represented in 5 galleries in the U.K. and as I am based at Focus Gallery in Nottingham I have the opportunity to work alongside customers for commissions and special requests.
