Louise Salsbury

Louise works in Loughborough, Leicestershire with her husband David. She first developed an interest in ceramics whilst working at the Fulham Pottery and World’s End Tiles in London during the1980s.

Louise’s work is primarily on tiles using pressings of leaves and seed pods to create a surface pattern. Large leaf tiles are slab rolled using a grogged white stoneware clay. Smaller tiles are slip cast from white earthenware. The clay impressions are coloured using underglazes and metal lustres. The finished tiles are then set in reclaimed wood frames.
