Louise Walker

Louise's fixation with fine food, social dinning & great design is the prime inspiration for her elegantly functional silver tableware.

Her designs aim to challenge our behaviour and interaction with the everyday object. Therefore, resulting in a fresh and enjoyable relationship with the item, and the function that it is designed to deliver.

Louise employs the difficult and secretive technical ability of soldering the opposing metals of silver and stainless steel together. She is taking the traditional technique of silver soldering to a new level, developing the skill to explore new applications. Her minimal, simplistic designs are beautifully executed. She strives to create meticulously crafted silverware that portrays the purity and beauty of the metal.

Louise uses this rare and secretive technique to connect the opposing metals of silver & stainless steel. This exclusive process offers her silverware a true signature; differentiating her collections from other designer makers. One can truly appreciate the highest quality of skill throughout Louise's work.

"So long, and thanks for all the fish"

After very many years of craft&design we've decided that we'd like to retire and so in 57 days we will close the craft&design website, including craft&design Online and the craft&design Selected Makers and Craft and Design Month websites. We've had a brilliant 35 years and would like to thank all our readers, advertisers, writers, contributors and website visitors for their support throughout that time. Our very best wishes to you all for the future - Angie and Paul.
