Mark Angelo-Gizzi

In 2014 after thirty years working in the design and advertising industry, Mark Angelo-Gizzi embarked on a complete change in career and began creating bespoke, classic leather satchels and bags made totally by hand.

The starting point for Mark came after attending a short introductory leather course at the Saddlery School Capel Manor college in 2009. Seeing the work that had been produced in the saddlery school Mark became completely hooked on leather and it’s traditions of combining beauty and utility. Fast forward through a couple of years of teaching himself and improving his skills, Mark applied for funding to further his skill set. In 2013 with the generous help of The Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust (QEST) Mark was able to gain experience and training under the tuition of some of the country’s finest leather crafts people. As a proud QEST Scholar Mark's training has taken his work and skill set to a whole new level.

Today his work tries to reflect an elegant traditional style - hand cut, hand stitched and hand finished. Taking inspiration from the rich history of British craftsmanship in leather, each item he produces is individually hand made to order to the customers own specifications and made from personally selected leather produced in British and Italian tanneries.

For each bag the aim is to produce a classic, beautifully crafted, practical and unique bag that will stand the test of time.
