Naomi Singer graduated from University College Falmouth in 2007, having specialised in warm glass techniques and, since graduating, she has continued to work in this material. Her glass pieces have been exhibited all over the southwest in galleries and shows throughout Dorset, Somerset, Devon, and Cornwall.
The sea, coastline and plants around her homes in Cornwall and Dorset heavily influence Naomi’s work, and many of the images used in her pieces are of plants specially grown for use in her work. Naomi uses a mixture of modern and traditional techniques to create her final pieces, including digital macro photography to create the images, which she then manipulates before converting the images into digital water-slide decals. She then uses traditional fusing and slumping techniques to finish the pieces.
Naomi is also a member of a studio collective in Bridport, Dorset where she regularly exhibits and runs courses in glass fusing, in addition to jointly managing the studio itself. In early 2009, Naomi was accepted as a member of the Devon Guild of Craftsmen.
