Pondlife Bench in Cedar of Lebanon by Philip Koomen
Maple Dining Table by Philip Koomen

I work towards developing a sustainable approach to furniture design and making through the innovative exploration of non-commercial woodland timber in the Oxfordshire and Chiltern area. Our Signed & Sealed range, including the iconic Pondlife bench series, embodies this approach. Our workshop practice mitigates its impact on global warming through sourcing timber from within a thirty mile radius of the workshop. Where supplies are unavailable locally we use temperate hardwoods from managed sources.
I believe the creativity of designers and craftsmen can be inspired through a more environmentally and ethically inspired approach to the ecological crisis now challenging humankind.
