Ros Millar recently graduated from Sheffield Hallam University in June 2009 with a BA (HONS) in Metalwork and Jewellery where she was awarded Sheffield Assay Office Graduation Prize for Excellence in Design 2009 - Runner up and was recently awarded funding, from the Arts Council of Northern Ireland for the purchase of Machinery.
Her work comprises a range of jewellery focussed mainly on silver and gold rings and neckpieces, and based on the idea of growth, decay and manipulation. Through her exploration of materials and colours she uses processes such as cuttlefish casting and photo-etching. Her collection is to be enjoyed on and off the body allowing the wearer to appreciate the true beauty and subtle complexities that have grown and developed within her work. Ros is currently based in London.
