Here at Sharper Millinery we use the finest quality fabrics, feathers, flowers, leathers, metals and jewels to accentuate our traditional, quirky or modern designs. We create beautiful bespoke millinery for the races, wedding, balls and parties. Some of our clients have won competitions at Doncaster, Windsor and Hereford races for best dressed lady and best hat.  Being passionate about millinery from all decades especially the glamour of Hollywood in the 1940’s and the eccentric designs of the 1960’s helps us to understand and develop the perfect hat or headpiece for our clients.

Bespoke hats and headpieces created by Sharper Millinery evolve through many different stages to create the perfect finished piece for each client. A hat can be created with sinamay, straw or fabric such as silk or velvet which is dyed to the perfect colour or shade if required. The crown and brim are ‘blocked’ separately; this involves pulling the fabric over a shape and pinning into place and stiffened. The crown and brim are stitched together; the brim is wired and covered on the edge by a binding, a lining added if necessary and any other embellishments required by the client such as feathers, flowers and jewels. All stitching, blocking and binding is done by hand making each hat totally unique and a piece of artwork for your head!
