Seamless design and simple functionality form the foundation of my practice; I try to make my pieces wearable, durable and beautiful.

I have always had an affinity with colour because it fills me with feeling. I love the lush green of Spring, the mellow hues of Summer and the bold orange of Autumn, and the way that the fruits, flowers, and trees bear their best colours at different times. My thoughts are filled with colour and it has always been the main ingredient of my creative work. As a small girl I loved to wear bright, blocks of colour, I didn’t mind if they went together or not! My taste has changed over the years but I retain the same joy that colour brings me.

During my degree in Contemporary Crafts I explored possible ways of implementing colour in my work. I wanted my jewellery to be bold and fresh, and the overall ‘look’ of the pieces to be new. I researched and refined ideas, looking far and wide. My answer was the surface printing of aluminium sheet. I combined the aluminium with sterling silver and the effect was totally innovative and exactly what I wanted. I am delighted to be successfully selling my jewellery collection in eightteen galleries across the country, including Diana Porter in Bristol and the Yorkshire Sculpture Park in Wakefield. It also featured in the June edition of Red magazine and the December edition of Goldsmiths magazine.

As time goes by, I realise I am learning a great deal about myself and what I would like to say. I hope to use my skills to share what I am finding with the wider world. With this in mind I am delighted to have begun both a new collection and a series of one off pieces, which I look forward to showcasing in 2011.
