Sarah Anderson

Foutery was established in 2006 by myself, Sarah Anderson. My necklaces, earrings and bracelets are hand woven from around 350 individual sterling silver jump rings into various traditional chainmail weaves. As each piece is custom made to your exact specifications, this ensures a perfect and individual fit every time. (‘foutery’ – Scot. Adj - demanding meticulous intricacy) - Is the name making sense now....?

Embellished with detachable stones that are inspired by the colours and textures of the Scottish countryside, I create versatile and enduring pieces. You will be able to match your jewellery to any item in your wardrobe with the simple addition of a new stone, as well as keeping it up to date with the latest trends and colours. All pieces are hallmarked by the Edinburgh Assay Office.

Quality is the single most important aspect to me, from the techniques I use, to the materials I choose to the packaging and support material I produce. Repeat custom has been strong and this is my benchmark for success. I hope you enjoy your purchase.

"So long, and thanks for all the fish"

After very many years of craft&design we've decided that we'd like to retire and so in 2 days we will close the craft&design website, including craft&design Online and the craft&design Selected Makers and Craft and Design Month websites. We've had a brilliant 35 years and would like to thank all our readers, advertisers, writers, contributors and website visitors for their support throughout that time. Our very best wishes to you all for the future - Angie and Paul.
