Breck Stoneware
Unique - Individual - Hand made - Stoneware ceramics.

I Studied ceramics and glass blowing for my BA (hons.) Degree and have taught ceramics for many years, but in the last 6 years have been selling my work through shows and galleries in the UK. I also sell through my own website. As of this year I will be working full time from my studio to expand what has become a thriving business.

I work in Stoneware and it has taken me many years to develop my present style of work. I do not throw on a wheel but build each piece of my work with individual coils which is extremely time consuming but allows for much more control of shape and finish . All decoration is produced by hand. No moulds are used with my applied decoration.

As each piece is either coiled or modelled no two pieces are exactly alike. There may be a small variation in the decoration or the flow of the glaze - making each piece of Breck Stoneware truly unique.

For me the fascination of ceramics is the marriage of form and decoration. I am strongly influenced by Arabian art and the art nouveau movement. My glazes are my own recipes and are combined with metal oxides which give some stunning effects under the high temperatures I fire my kiln to.

All my work is weather proof and frost proof.
A striking centre piece in the home or an interesting focal point in the garden.
I produce one off commissions and small runs of any particular design.
