Tourmaline Ring - white gold with yellow gold inlay by Will Evans

Will Evans started his jewellery career as an apprentice to a master-blacksmith and has since progressed to making sophisticated jewellery incorporating fine gold inlay.Much of his work has a linear feel to it with the introduction of calculated proportions to the composition were appropriate. His distinctive use of gold inlay helps to define or even defy the form of the pieces hence blurring the boundaries between line and three-dimensional form. Together with inlay, Will also uses techniques such as folding, forging and soldering precious metals to create striking forms. The inlay process uses hammers and chisels to remove metal in order to insert 24k gold, the resulting line or area is flush with the surface.

The majority of Wills work is made to commission, with recent commissioning clients including the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths.
