Stacey Manser-Knight

I am largely self taught. Over the last 9 years I have worked to develop my skills and style. I produce decorative but functional items. such as- jugs, clocks, bowls of all sizes, egg cups and urns for loved ones. Incorporating some silver work in occasional pieces.

I work in a red earthenware clay. Which is coated with a white clay, slip layer. This gives me a surface to draw through.

Once the piece has reached a near dry state ,I illustrate it and pipe-on a thick clay preparation, to achieve the raised surfaces. this is then fired, coloured and clear over glaze applied. - Fired once more, It's now ready for the gold lustre rims highlights and, on-glaze details - such as the stripes on bees. All this Achieves an illustrated piece with depth and great detail.

For inspiration I use happy memories, I have no set designs and therefore, all pieces are individual.

I live and work in Sussex, between the downs and the sea, I am married with three children.
